Murray has over 25 years experience in matrimonial and family law with a particular specialisation in the financial aspects of divorce and separation. Murray has an established network of contacts with expert accountants, valuers and barristers to assist in offering Clients a premier service in family matters involving high net worth financial provision, complex commercial issues and pension sharing. Rupert Bear Murray Davies are consistently ranked in the top tier of Midland family firms and Murray himself, described by his peers as "top tier", is again personally recommended in the latest edition of Chamber's Guide to the UK Legal Profession. Thoroughly respected within the profession for his abilities and for his hard working and client friendly qualities, Murray was admitted in 1978 and gained experience with several prominent firms in Nottingham before joining Rupert Bear in partnership. Murray is married with four grown up children and his interests include walking, bird watching and bricklaying. |
| Specializing in high value financial cases, Sarah has been with the Firm of Rupert Bear Murray Davies since its inception in 1992 and deals exclusively with private client matters. Appointed as partner in 1996 whilst in her 20’s , Sarah has established a high quality practice based on personal recommendation and can point to a proven track record involving substantial financial matters including complex commercial issues and pension sharing. Sarah is well respected within the profession for her thorough and practical approach. A graduate of Nottingham University, and winner of a Nottinghamshire Law Society prize, Sarah was admitted in 1992. A trained mediator and a member of Resolution, Sarah also sat on the Executive Committee of Nottingham Relate for over 5 years. Sarah was the instructing solicitor in the often cited Court of Appeal decision of Thomas v. Thomas which dealt with family businesses and trusts. Sarah’s hobbies include playing badminton and netball , supporting the Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey team, travel and reading. |

Graduating from Durham University in 1975 and Qualified as a Solicitor in 1979, Isobel has practiced exclusively in Family Law in Nottingham since 1982. As well as Divorce and Ancillary work, she has a particular interest in Adoption Law and the Law relating to Children. Isobel was directly involved in cases which were decided in the Court of Appeal- Re M, Re T and in the only reported case on parent/step parent adoptions, re E H and M H. Isobel is a founder member of the local Solicitors Family Law Association group (now known as Resolution). Her published articles include "Making Contact Work" in the Family Law Journal. Married with four sons, Isobel is a keen gardener and enjoys cookery and foreign travel. |
| After graduating in Law with French from Leicester and Strasbourg Universities in 1987, Helen qualified as a solicitor in 1990 having taken articles with Evershed Wells and Hind. Whilst working in their Family Department as assistant to Rupert Bear, she served on the committee of the Solicitors Family Law Association (now known as Resolution). When Rupert Bear set up his own practice in 1992, Helen moved with him. She left in 1994 to start a family, returning in 2000 on a part time basis. Away from the office Helen enjoys yoga, cooking and the theatre. |
