The firm of Rupert Bear and Company was formed in 1992 after Rupert had been Senior Partner in the Family Law department of Wells and Hind (latterly Evershed Wells and Hind) for many years. The firm was established as a niche family law firm.

In 1996, Rupert was joined in Partnership by Murray Davies, who brought a wealth of experience gained in several premier Nottingham Law firms, and by Sarah Heathcote who had joined the firm at its formation. The current practice name was then adopted. The firm carries out private client work exclusively.

Rupert retired in 1999 and Murray and Sarah were joined in partnership by Isobel England who had previously been a partner at Sharp and Partners with a particular specialisation in children work. The Partners are assisted by Helen Camidge. All our solicitors are members of the Nottinghamshire Law Society and members of Resolution, formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association.

The firm has maintained an excellent reputation for the high quality of its work and is regularly rated in the top tier of midland family firms by independent legal surveys including the Legal 500 and Chambers Guide to the Legal Profession, generally accepted as the two premier legal guides in the UK.

RBMD is a city centre firm located in Nottingham’s historic Lace Market and a few minutes walk from the Nottingham County Court. There is a choice of several public car parks nearby.
